Incitement to Religious Hatred

Lucifer is a sort of Satanist. His religion, he claims, tells him to take every opportunity to take advantage of his fellow beings, regardless of the pain or suffering he might cause. He is amoral and only refrains from evil deeds where to commit them would result in his discomfiture. Our wonderful Mr Blair's government want to introduce a law which would make it illegal for you to incite hatred of Lucifer based upon his religion. You could still incite hatred of Lucifer because he has a warty nose or bad breath, but not because his religion, the very motivation for his evil acts, is odious.

I used to think that so many of our ministers being lawyers, or ex-lawyers, was a mixed blessing. OK, so they are scientific and philosophical numbskulls, but at least they should understand concepts like fairness and.... absurdity.
